Busking at the Cahersiveen Music Festival

The entrance fee covers all nights and includes a wristband granting access to the live music. This wristband is valid throughout the weekend if purchased on a Friday. In 2023, the fee was €20.

Experience the Vibrant Carnival Atmosphere

Marvel at the vibrant decorations, carousel rides, and festive atmosphere that permeates the air at the carnival. With a variety of thrilling rides and delicious carnival treats, there is something for everyone to enjoy, including the waltzer, bumper cars, and small kiddie rides.

For the adults, there are two main activities: sheaf throwing and tractor pulling. In sheaf throwing, participants use a pitchfork to throw a sheaf over a progressively higher bar.

Each person has three attempts to clear the bar. As for tractor pulling, it’s a team effort where four or five people work together to pull the tractor, with the fastest team securing the victory.

From singers to dancers to instrumentalists, the competition highlights a diverse array of acts that promise to dazzle. It’s a wonderful chance to show your support and inspire the upcoming generation of artists as they step into the limelight and shine.

Don’t let this thrilling event pass you by; immerse yourself in an atmosphere that promotes creativity, passion, and youthful exuberance, all within a warm and encouraging setting.

Terrier Racing

One of my favourite activities is terrier racing. The terriers are positioned by a familiar person, while the owners gather at the top of the hill in Fairfield.

When the starter signals the beginning of the race, the individuals holding the terriers release them.

Despite the owners calling out to them, the terriers may choose not to run, run in an unexpected direction, or even socialize with other terriers. It’s quite a comical and unpredictable scene.

Children’s Parade
