The best Cahersiveen Restaurants.
There are many excellent restaurants in Cahersiveen. Because Cahersiveen is a fishing port I will divide it into 2 groups. You have restaurants that cater to all types of different taste palettes and then you have restaurants that specialize in fish.
Cahersiveen Restaurants ( Seafood )
The Point Restaurant
If you like fish, you will love the Point Restaurant. It is only 5 km outside Cahersiveen. It is located at Renard Point overlooking Valentia Harbour on Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. They serve super fresh, locally sourced seafood from the months of March to November.
Sometimes they are booked out so you should ring in advance to book a table. They serve all fish so if you don’t like fish, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. It is also a pub so if you are waiting for the ferry you can pop in there for a drink.
Qc’s Restaurant & Guesthouse
Another excellent place is Qc’s seafood bar and restaurant. They get their fish from Quinlan’s, a family company, that supplies fish all over the County. It is a small yet cozy restaurant creating the perfect dining atmosphere.
It can seat up to 70 people at a time. Now you can stay in Qc’s because it has 11 en-suite guest bedrooms. It is one of the places I would recommend you stay when you are in Cahersiveen. It has an excellent rating with TripAdvisor.
Cahersiveen Restaurants ( Non-Seafood )
Moorings Restaurant & Guesthouse
If you are not a fan of fish, I recommend the Moorings restaurant. It is in Portmagee which is 15 km away from Cahersiveen but it is well worth the trip. My wife and I go there when we stay down in Cahersiveen. There is a huge selection on the menu catering to vegetarians as well.
It was voted Munster’s Best Gastro Pub in the 2013 Restaurant Association Awards. If it’s a lovely day you can eat outside just across the road from the bar. Many people while they are waiting to go to the Skellig Michael have a bite to eat to keep them going for the day.
If you are going to see where Star Wars was filmed the boats cast off from the marina across the road from the bar. Check out my webpage on Skellig Micheal here.
Fertha Bar & Restaurant
Fertha Bar & Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner at their restaurant. With delectable meat dishes and fresh seafood available, there is something available to please everyone at this food establishment. The food is well presented and good value for money. It is a good sign when the locals eat there all the time.
Lazy Cat Café
Lazy Cat Café is the purr-fect spot for all cat lovers and food enthusiasts! Nestled in the heart of Cahersiveen, their cozy café offers a delightful combination of delectable treats.
Whether you are craving a slice of cake, a steaming cup of coffee, or a scrumptious sandwich, they have a wide range of options to satisfy your taste buds.
But that’s not all – their warm and welcoming ambiance, coupled with the opportunity to purchase beautiful paintings of cats, sets them apart from your ordinary café experience. The cafe is opposite the side entrance to the church.
