If you are in Sneem, you must visit Kerry Geopark, as it’s one of the oldest yet amazingly preserved geoparks. This geopark has many ancient archaeological sites and many of them are in the Irish language.

In addition, you can see paintings and other historical items, which will help you understand what people in the older times did to have fun, such as enjoying music and dancing.

The Way The Fairies Went

If you are into architecture, then the way the fairies went is a fantastic place to visit. The pyramids were created in 1987 by James Scanlon to celebrate the winning of the national tidy towns competition.

The sculpture sits perfectly in the land, and everything feels natural. You can get some inspiration from James’s work if you are an architect. It is a masterpiece, to say the least. But, even if you aren’t an architect, the way to the fairies is a place you should visit if you are in Sneem.

Staigue Stone Fort

One of the most visited places near Sneem, Staigue Stone Fort was built between 300 and 400 AD and was a defensive fort for the rulers during that time.

This fort was built using raw stone, which makes it very interesting to see. You can see all the craftsmanship and effort it took to make this fort with limited technology.

It is genuinely a great stone fort to visit and a must for people visiting Sneem. Check out my web page on the fort here.

Derrynane Beach

Derrynane beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. With its striking white sand and sky-blue water, you are sure to encounter a relaxing yet beautiful experience.

If you like beaches then you must visit Derrynane beach, it’s truly a masterpiece. Check out my web page on the beach here. Also, there is a coral beach at Gleesk pier near Sneem.

Sneem, which is on the Kerry coast, offers both saltwater and freshwater fishing. You can fish many types of fish which you might not find where you live.

To fish, you should organise the trip with an expert who can take you to the correct locations where it’s safe and enjoyable.

We recommend you get in touch with an expert and not go fishing by yourself. It can lead to issues in both finding the right location and perhaps legal matters.

But if you plan the fishing trip properly, you will have a fantastic time fishing for saltwater and freshwater fish.
