When is the Greyhound Racing in Tralee?
Tralee Greyhound Stadium is a good night out. There is a restaurant on the top floor so you can eat and bet on the tote at the same time. The meetings are on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday.

There are many pubs with different types of music at night. An Cearnog Bar in The Square has music most night. It could be unplugged, traditional, pop, etc. Bailey’s Corner has sometimes got unplugged music.
What are the best places to eat in Tralee?
There are good restaurants in town. For breakfast, I recommend The Bookshelf or Chopin’s and for dinner, I recommend the early bird in Cassidy’s.

What is on in Siamsa Tire?
Siamsa Tire is a theatre and arts centre located in the town park. It hosts a wide range of theatre and concert events all year round and has a visual arts gallery.
It is the home of the National Folk Theatre of Ireland presenting the best of Irish traditional music, song, and dance from May – September. Visit their homepage here.
What is the Nearest beach to Tralee?
Banna and Maharees beaches.
We have 2 Blue Flag Beaches within miles of town. The water quality of the two Beaches is superb. Banna Beach and Maharees are sometimes good for surfing. Now and then there will be a surfing school located at the Banna beach.
Also, people go beach fishing for sea bass, etc. People flock to the Maharees to get rays of sunshine. Children can partake in all the water sports that the 2 beaches can cater for. There is a nine-hole golf course in Castlegregory that is very near the Maharees.
There are beaches closer to Tralee, but they are not Blue Flag beaches because they have no lifeguards and changing rooms, etc. The water quality is excellent. They are much quieter.
Tralee Aqua Dome
The Aqua Dome offers a place to swim with other attractions including a slide. It is a great day out for the family whatever the weather. There is a Crazy Golf Course outside the centre. Visit their homepage here.
Kerry Predator Paintball
Paintballing is also in the town. Teenagers & adults can test there shooting & combat skills. They can also cater for bus tours.
Knocknagoshel Shooting Club
About 25 minutes by car you will get to Knocknagoshel Shooting Club. Practice your clay pigeon shooting and archery here. Have a competition between yourselves on the rifle range. Contact them first before visiting. Visit their homepage here.
Bowling Buddies is a great day out for the family even the small ones. They have a ramp for the kids who can’t hold the bowling balls. Monkey Paradise is for the kids with slides, ball pits & more. Visit their homepage here.

Is there Horse Riding in Tralee?
Tralee Equestrian Centre is located just outside the Town in Tonevane. You can trek up Slieve Mish Mountain with ponies/horses. There is also beach riding. Visit their homepage here.

Where can you go hiking in Tralee?
Hike up the Slieve Mish mountains. There is a Kerry Camino. It is a spectacular hike up the mountains in Tralee and runs parallel to the coastline. The starting place is St Johns Church and it finishes in Dingle.
Most people can’t hike that far so they have split it into 3 sections; Tralee to Camp, Camp to Annascaul, and Annascaul to Dingle. A lot of people stop off in The Junction Bar in Camp after the first section.
There are many old buildings and statues in Tralee. One of them is St John’s Church. It has a huge steeple and it is still being used today. Another one is the Ardfert Cathedral. Tralee Town Park
There is a big park in the centre of town. It is located at the bottom of Denny Street and it covers 35 acres. When the Rose of Tralee is picked, she is brought down to the Rose Garden the following day to have her picture taken. Visit my web page on Tralee Town Park.
Where are the Tennis Courts in Tralee?
There are 3 tennis courts located beside the cinema on Dan Spring Road. They are floodlit so you can play tennis in the evening in winter when it is dark.
Where is the Pitch & Putt Course in Tralee?
Although crazy golf, located in the Aquadome, there is a pitch and putt course in Tralee as well. It is situated at Collis Sands Woods off Killeen Road.
